MedBen Rx Manager of Client Services Bethany Peters recently completed the Community Leadership program offered through the Licking County (OH) Chamber of Commerce. The nine-month program teaches the importance of “strength-based” leadership and developing the attributes at which the participant excels.

Peters says that the program taught her about core strengths – her own as well as others. “I have much more confidence about when to step forward and volunteer for a task that is suited for me, and when to step back and let someone else on my team take the reins on something better suited for them,” she observed.

Communication style is another takeaway from the program Peters uses in her job. “I am more mindful of my coworkers’ manner of communicating and am adapting to their preferences, while still getting the work done,” she said.

On a personal level, the program offered benefits that go beyond the workplace: “I have a more positive outlook on who I am as a person and as a parent. There were a few strengths that I had previously looked at as weaknesses. This experience has changed my perspective.”

Peters joined MedBen in 2015 as a Customer Service Representative before joining the Account Management team, and last year was promoted to Client Services Manager. She is a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Congratulations Bethany!
