Hopefully, you were able to attend one of MedBen’s recent No Surprises Act (NSA) webinars, or have spoken to your broker about the legislation and how it will affect your plan. If not, be aware that beginning July 1, 2022, NSA will require your plan to provide new administrative services to your members.
To make the implementation process as smooth as possible, MedBen has a complete turnkey solution that addresses all claims and transparency services required under the NSA legislation.
- For MedBen clients with January through July 2022 renewals, this solution will go into effect on July 1, 2022.
- For MedBen clients with August through December 2022 renewals, this solution will go into effect on your 2022 renewal date.
Your Account Management team will assist you with implementation. The monthly services fee will be added to your bill on the applicable effective date and out-of-network claims will be processed through Phia Unwrapped subject to their percentage of savings fee.
In the coming weeks, MedBen will continue to reach out with information to help you implement the new rules. In the meantime, if you have any additional questions about NSA or how it affects your plan, do not hesitate to contact the MedBen Compliance Department.
