On September 9, 2024, the federal Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) released information and a preview of the Department of Labor’s final Mental Health Parity regulations.
The Final Rules are scheduled to be published in the Federal Register within the next few weeks. Among other requirements, the Final Rules provide additional guidance on health plan documentation requirements related to the comparative analyses of non-quantitative treatment limitations (NQTLs), such as preauthorization requirements and network composition standards, that apply to mental health and substance use disorders.
