On July 10, 2023, the United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB) received the Department of Labor’s newly proposed Mental Health Parity regulations. This latest installment in health plan Mental Health Parity compliance is expected to be released in the near future and follows the Biden Administration’s recent announcements to tackle the nation’s mental health crisis.
Some experts speculate that the new Mental Health Parity regulations will provide additional guidance on how health plans can provide required plan comparative analyses and may even include “safe harbor” provisions that make compliance easier.
MedBen will provide summaries and guidance as soon as any new regulations are released.
