MedBen President & CEO Kurt Harden and Vice President of Sales & Marketing Brian Fargus were featured speakers at the Sherrill-Morgan 9th Annual Healthcare Innovation Conference on September 13-14. The event brought together employers from Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee to learn strategies that help reduce and control rising healthcare costs.
In his presentation “Plan Language Matters,” Harden detailed how strategic plan language can save a health plan significantly, while protecting both the member and the plan. He stated that “it’s essential that plan language should match payment practices… and compliance is a valuable investment.”
Fargus’ presentation examined trends in claims surveillance. Through the use of solid plan language, case management, and forensic review, employers can ensure they pay the right price for necessary care. “Key to successful surveillance is having contract language in place that allows for claim audits and reviews,” he noted.
