On October 13, the Department of Health and Human Services renewed the COVID-19 public health emergency for another 90 days. This means that the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) requirement that health plans pay for COVID-19 testing (including antibody testing, testing through a health care provider, and at home (OTC) testing) without member cost-sharing will continue through January 11, 2023.
The amendments MedBen helped our clients put in place back in 2020 anticipated this and no additional amendments need to be adopted to meet this extended requirement.
