Last Call For 2019 FSA Purchases

debit cardJust a reminder that if your plan offers a health flexible spending account (FSA), plan members need to use their tax-free contributions by December 31, 2019 before the remaining funds are forfeited… unless your plan offers a grace period or allows members to carry over funds into 2020.

Plan members can double-check their balances by visiting MedBen Access at MedBen.com.

  1. Click on “MedBen Access” in the top right corner.
  2. On the MedBen Access home page, enter user name and password. (First-time visitors need to click on “Please register here” to access their account.)
  3. Select “FSA/HRA Online Inquiry” from the “My Plan” menu.
  4. Enter the FSA/HRA Online Inquiry site and click on “Balances” to view Health FSA balance. (Note that recently incurred claims that have not yet been paid will not be reflected in the balance.)

Plan members with remaining funds can check our list of IRS-Eligible Expenses to see what purchases are eligible for reimbursement under their FSA – popular items include bandages and gauze, eyeglass frames, contact lenses and saline solution.
